Bulk lookups, watching and API
The pages of this site are free. What is not free is doing this three hundred times, on your own list, every month.
Who does this at volume
Three jobs turn a single lookup into a recurring one:
- Onboarding and re-checking subcontractors. A freight forwarder or 3PL that engages hauliers has to establish, before a first load and periodically afterwards, that the licence exists and is in normal standing. 555 of the 69,173 licences here are curtailed or suspended — the whole point of the check is catching one of those.
- Insurance and finance. Goods-in-transit underwriting and asset finance both key on authorised vehicle count. It is on the register and nowhere else in a usable form.
- Selling to operators. Anyone selling tyres, telematics, fuel cards, lubricants or workshop services to hauliers needs the fleet size band to size the account — 4,579 licences authorise more than 25 vehicles.
What we can do on your list
- Resolve a list. Send licence numbers, operator names or company numbers; get back a CSV with type, status, authorised vehicles and trailers, postcode area and the Companies House number where we hold one (we hold it for 78.5 % of licences).
- Watch a portfolio. Give us the operators you work with. We compare each weekly publication against the last and tell you what moved — a curtailment, a suspension, a change in authorised vehicles.
- Query it. A JSON endpoint by licence number, for putting the check inside your own onboarding flow.
Volumes and prices are quoted case by case, because the work differs: a one-off resolution of 500 numbers is not a weekly watch on 5 000. Say what you need and we will answer with a figure and a sample.
Tell us what you need to resolve
Describe the list or the watch. We reply with a sample against your own data, and a price. No payment is taken on this site.
Every request is answered by hand. Your details are used to reply and nothing else — see the privacy page.
