Privacy
Short version: no analytics, no cookies, no tracking — and two columns of the source register that never leave the door.
What this site does not publish
The DVSA file names, on every row, the transport manager and the directors or partners of the operator, as natural persons. This site removes both while reading the file, before writing anything to a database. They are on no page, in no search index, and in no file we sell.
The same applies to the operating centre address. The file gives a full street address; this site keeps only the postcode area — the one or two letters at the front. No page here carries a street or a full postcode.
This matters because of what republishing would create. A register that is only downloadable as eight bulk files does not let anyone look up which haulage businesses a named person directs. A searchable, indexed site would. That is not a side effect worth risking, so the data does not enter.
What your browser sends
No analytics, no advertising, no cookies, no third-party scripts. The site is static files.
Your search never reaches a server. The query lives in the
part of the address after the #, which browsers do not transmit.
The lookup is done in your browser against static index files. We cannot see
what you searched for, because it is not sent.
The hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, records ordinary server logs — IP address, time, the file requested — as any host does. We do not have access to a per-visitor analytics view and do not run one.
If you send us a message
Two forms on this site collect an e-mail address: a request to move something, and a request for bulk access or a dataset. Both are handled by Formspree, which forwards them to our mailbox.
What we do with what you send:
- Bulk access and dataset enquiries — we reply, and we keep the exchange while the enquiry is live and for as long as we have a business relationship.
- Haulage requirements — we reply, and we pass the requirement on to licensed operators so they can respond to you. That is the point of the form and it is what happens to your message. We do not sell lists, and we do not pass anything on if you tell us not to.
Ask us to delete what you have sent and we will, at the contact address. If you would rather not use a form, write to us there directly.
